Frequently Asked Questions
We are a private pay practice. At Worth It PT, our priority is providing high-quality, personalized care without the limitations imposed by insurance. By operating outside the insurance model, we are able to offer longer, more in-depth sessions, ensuring you receive the time, attention, and expertise needed to fully address your concerns. Traditional insurance-based physical therapy often requires short, standardized appointments that may not allow for comprehensive treatment—especially for complex or chronic conditions. Without insurance restrictions dictating your care, we can focus on what truly matters: getting to the root cause of your pain and dysfunction, using advanced, evidence-based techniques tailored specifically to you. Our goal is to provide lasting results, not just temporary relief. If you've struggled to find effective solutions within the traditional system, our approach may be exactly what you need.

For a more short and sweet answer: The primary difference is the time and quality. In all honesty, both are needed in this world. We need access to insurance based care, and sometimes private pay is able to give the quality that is needed.
If you have a lot going on, you’re coming in complaining of not only pelvic issues but painful intercourse, back pain, hip tension, etc, then you’d likely benefit from the longer and more detailed sessions. When sessions are really short in the insurance world, your therapist (as great as they may be) does not have the time to step back and get the whole big picture in one go. This delays progress a lot, because oftentimes the root of the issue might not even be in the pelvic floor itself.
If insurance is important to you, and that’s okay too, you can go try insurance-based pelvic floor PT and see if your issues get solved. If they do, great. And if you need continuing care after insurance kicks you out of treatment, that is where private pay can step in.
Dr. Caroline, founder of Worth It PT, really hated working in the insurance based model where you were told to return nearly weekly for 30-45 min sessions, at least 8-10x. Barely anyone has time for that, and it left so much unanswered and uncovered. It works better for the quality of care she prefers to give if you can have longer sessions less frequently.
There’s no right or wrong answer, you have to do what feels right for you.
There is no perfect answer here, and should be best tailored to your needs. The good news is by working outside of the insurance model, we don't prescribe the "2x/week for 8 weeks for 30 minute visits" traditionally seen in PT. Essentially, you are in charge of what the sessions treat, how we go about helping you reach your goals, and what frequency works best for you.
